Inaugural Youth Mental Health Forum

On Tuesday 30th of October 2012, the Inaugural Youth Mental Health Forum was held in Griffith at the Regional Theatre. The main purpose of the forum was to de-stigmatise mental health.

The day was a success with alot of positive feedback gained, and students taking away a broader outlook on mental health - all thanks to a great team effort by the Steering Committee, and volunteers on the day.

Lab Skills Partnership

in Partnership Broker

A partnership between the TAFE NSW Riverina Institute, local wineries, and schools addresses the current skills shortage for laboratory technicians in the wine industry.

Riverina Institute’s Wine & Food Technology Centre recently worked together with DeBortoli Wines, McWilliams Wines, the Australian Wine Research Institute, two local High Schools and four Central Schools to give year 10 students a practical taste of working in laboratories of wineries.

The LYNKS Program - What is it?

in The LYNKS Program

The LYNKS Program is an innovative workplace-based-learning program for Year 10 at-risk students at the four local high schools who may be disengaged with their schooling and wishing to consider other options such as entering the workforce to acquire a trade or working in such areas as retail, hospitality or business administration.

Participating students receive on-the-job training one day a week over a twenty-week period due to the support of a large number of local businesses that are eager to participate.
