This year GetSet (formerly LYNVET LYNKS) has secured funds to deliver three programs —
1. LYNKS — A program for year 10 students at Leeton, Yanco and Narrandera. Funded by the local communities and Schools First. The program was the 2009 NSW Schools First state winner.
2. Workplaceplacement@GetSet — Funded by the NSW Department of Education and Training (DET). The program will service the schools and the business communities in the Lower Murrumbidgee Region NSW 17. The role of the program is to co-ordinate work placements for the region. This year the program will place up to 1000 students, which covers 20 high schools and TAFE campuses.
3. Partnership Broker, PB@GetSet — Funded by the Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations (DEEWR). As a partnership broker (PB) the program will broker sustainable, strategic partnerships between and among key stakeholders in the Lower Murrumbidgee Region NSW 17.
Each of these programs is outlined in more detail throughout this site.
GetSet is managed by a board of management, which is responsible for overseeing and managing the programs and the staff. The management board consists of a cross-section of school, business and community members.
WITH the expansion of the LYNVET LYNKS programs to cover the whole of the lower Murrumbidgee region and the move to bigger premises, it was decided to take the huge step of changing the business name, image and logo.
The program wanted to get away from the old fashioned name and logos and replace them with something that is young, different and that reflected the overall program. After some brainstorming sessions and many suggestions the program settled on GetSet ... for your future
