Our organisation has experienced many changes over the last 14 years but the new Partnership Broker program covering lower Murrumbidgee and the extended service region for structured workplace learning would have to be our biggest yet.
We are excited to be servicing the new region and communities of Griffith, West Wyalong, Lake Cargelligo, Hillston, Coleambally, Barellan and all those in between, in addition to Leeton, Yanco and Narrandera.
We have employed four new staff and I would like to extend a warm welcome to
Frank Valenzisi, CEO and Partnership Broker, Jeanine Bird, Partnership Broker, Carmel Cristofaro, Business/Office Administration and Jenny Clark, Workplace Co-ordinator. They join our existing staff Tania Speer, Program Manager and Fiona Smith, Workplace Co-ordinator
Another change has been our name. We felt that we needed a new name to reflect with the bigger region and new programs. We will now be known as GetSet – for your future.
There are certainly some challenges in servicing the new and larger region but we look forward to the opportunity to expand our services beyond Leeton, Yanco and Narrandera and to continue to improve school to workplace outcomes for the young people in our communities.
Finally, I would like to acknowledge our outgoing Executive Officer Sue Gavel who will retire in July. Words of congratulations and gratitude are not enough for what she has achieved over the last 14 years. She has been with our organisation since its inception so it was appropriate that in her last year the LYNKS program won the NAB NSW Schools First State Award. The successful Partnership Brokering tender was also the result of her vision and drive. Her passion, especially for our young people, will be missed and on behalf of the Board and staff I wish her all the best for the future.
