As the holiday season approaches the General Retail Industry Award is seeing some new changes. As of 1 November 2018 casual rates have jumped up to 135% loading above the base award rates and by 2020 they will be entitled to 25% Saturday penalty rates on top of the 25% casual loading. That will bring their total pay to 150% of the base rate.
