In Leeton on Tuesday Leeton High School year 9 students Molly and Jorja
In Leeton on Tuesday Leeton High School year 9 students Molly and Jorja and their mentor Sam joined forces with Headspace Griffith to deliver a presentation to four year groups at Leeton High School. The two girls volunteered to participate in the Youth Frontiers Mentoring Program this year and have set their focus on mental health and the issues youth face. The mentoring program pairs high school aged students with a mentor who will work with the students on a civic project that encourages them to find ways to be involved in the community.
Students at Leeton High School seized the opportunity to participate in the workshop with Headspace. In a series of games and open discussions the students discussed cyber safety and the impact of bullying. In addition to raising mental health awareness, Molly and Jorja are raising funds to benefit Headspace in Griffith.
