GetSet has an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to commence a Welding Apprenticeship based in Leeton.
We are seeking recent school leavers with a strong interest in the engineering industry and a genuine drive to build a successful career in metal fabrication.
In this hands on role, you will work in an industrial environment, gaining experience across all aspects of light and heavy metal fabrication. Your duties will include workshop based fabrication, as well as occasional onsite installation and repair work.
Throughout the apprenticeship, you will develop valuable skills in:
Designing and interpreting plans
Assembling and manufacturing steel products
Installation and maintenance
Modifying and repairing metal structures
You will complete a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade through TAFE over 3 years, leading to qualification as a tradesperson upon completion of the 4-year apprenticeship.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A genuine interest and passion for engineering and fabrication
Strong literacy and numeracy skills
Good communication skills
Solid problem-solving ability
A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
The ability to work both indoors and outdoors
You should also be confident in basic mathematical operations, including geometry and calculations involving:
Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Fractions and decimals
Percentages and proportions
